Meatless Monday
Meatless Monday or Meat free Monday is an idea that people should eat no meat for one day (not necessarily Monday) every week. It was made popular by Sir Paul McCartney, a former member of The Beatles. The goal of Meatless Mondays is to encourage people to think about environmental, ethical and social aspects of meat production. There is also a hope that some people who remove meat out of their menus for one day may eventually become full-time vegetarians or vegans.
The city of Ghent in Belgium became the first city in Europe to have an official, regular, Meat Free Day every week.
